FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We understand that functional medicine might be a new concept for some people. That's why we've put together this list of frequently asked questions to help answer some of your questions and concerns. If you don't see your question listed here, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Do you accept insurance?
No, Functional Wellness with Bridget Mayer, PA does not accept insurance. Most insurance carriers do not cover typical services rendered by functional medicine. I can give you a superbill to submit to insurance upon request.

Can I use my HSA/FSA credit card to pay for services?
Yes! I am able to process your HSA/FSA debit/credit cards for payment.
 

What age group do you see?
Adults 21 years of age and older.
 

Where are you located? My office is located in Manlius, New York in the Synergy Center at 4500 Pewter Lane. I see patients both remotely via Zoom and in person in my Manlius office. 

 

What states do you work? I can see patients that live in New York and Connecticut. If you live in Connecticut I can just do Zoom/remote visits.

Can you be my primary care provider?
No, you will need to be established with a primary care provider and Functional Wellness with Bridget Mayer, PA will act as a consulting specialist.

Is Functional Medicine evidence-based?

Functional medicine can use alternative therapies, and tries to look at the best scientific evidence for these therapies. It can be difficult, however, these studies often face several difficulties that can affect the accuracy and reliability of their findings, such as to always do conclusive studies that involve lifestyle. An example is in nutritional-based studies. Nutritional-based studies often face several difficulties that can affect the accuracy and reliability of their findings such as dietary recall, long-term follow up, complexity of diets and dietary assessment tools.
